I'm so very proud of this "soon-to-be" Clemson graduate. I've known her since she was in the sixth grade, and it seems like yesterday that I photographed her senior year in high school! Brittany is an awesome young lady, and holds a special place in my heart. And I absolutely LOVE photographing on Clemson's beautiful campus. I worked for THE UNIVERSITY for 32 years, and found so many awesome "backdrops" during that time. Brittany has spent a lot of her time at Clemson's Library, so it only seemed fitting to use that gorgeous pond and library as one of our chosen sites! Congratulations, Britt-Britt. You're gonna be a Clemson grad! Mama Black is so proud of you!!!

SWEET BABY GRACEN

I get SOOOOO excited when I get a request to photograph a newborn baby. I just can't hardly stand it!! I tell the moms that the suggested timeframe is 3-10 days after delivery, mainly because the babies lose their fetal position pretty quickly. This is true, but it's also because there is NOTHING like the feel of a newborn baby's skin...with that precious little peach fuzz, and those completely awesome little noises they make. Even the cry doesn't bother me. It gives me a reason to nestle and cuddle more. LOL. This precious little doll's mother was in our youth group over 13 years ago. Wow, time sure does fly! Precious little Gracen is blessed with an awesome mom and dad, as well as a PRECIOUS, proud big brother, Coleman!! CLASS OF 2014 - SENIOR SESSIONS

I love, love, love high school and college senior sessions! High school seniors are SO excited about the future, and the world is so bright for them! It's hard to contain their excitement, and I don't WANT them to. :-) College seniors are ready to make a difference in the world, and are usually tired of tests and studying, and can't wait to be a "grown-upper".

With that being said, it is now time to schedule YOUR senior session! This time of year fills up FAST, so don't wait too long. I will be out of town a week in March, and I already have several sessions booked. If you're wanting to use your session photos for personalized graduation announcements, it's even more important to schedule early! Take a look at some of the unique cards provided last year. GENDER REVEAL

"There's a first time for everything"....as the old saying goes. And that was true for a recent photo session. I was contacted about doing a "Gender Reveal" session for a friend of a friend. I got so excited because I'd never had the opportunity before! The cool thing was both parents didn't even know what the baby was going to be. The ultrasound results were sealed in an envelope, and a close friend prepared the balloon box that would reveal the gender. What a friend -- and what a challenge to keep it a secret! I'm so excited for this precious family as they add a new baby girl this summer, and I can't wait to meet and photograph her. Congratulations!

I had the privilege of getting to know this "hot Mama" in my CrossFit box/gym. She was a beast to work out with, and she ROCKED her maternity session, as you can see below. But when I finally got to meet little Miss Josie Cate, it was very clear where Allison's passion was. :-) She is such an awesome mother already! During her first newborn session, Little Miss Josie called the shots (pardon the pun). It seemed that eating was her favorite interest at that point. We opted for a return session, and Josie NAILED IT! She has the most unique head of hair, and the SWEETEST expressions. I could just watch her for hours! {Her full session is locked at the moment, so keep checking back. In the meantime, enjoy this sneak peek}!

I've been working on a wedding "magazine" to advertise and explain what I offer as a wedding photographer, and it was awesome walking down the "memory lane" that has been created the past few years. I've had the opportunity to be a part of so many marriage celebrations that were simply precious! Each one is unique and different, and it never gets old seeing couples so much in love. :-) And as I poured through the pictures, it was very difficult to select just a few favorites to include in the magazine. Better late than never! I actually dislike this phrase, but sometimes it just truly fits the situation. My intentions were to post this on New Year's Day -- of course! But January came in like a storm....literally. On New Year's Day, we made a last-minute decision to drive from SC to NY to see my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, and we were greeted with about 10 inches of snow. What a treat!! And typically January is a slow month for my photography business, but I'm happy to say it wasn't the case this year. ANYWAY.....I'm just now taking a look back to 2013, and want to send out a thank you to all my clients (7 weddings/bridal portraits, 8 high school seniors, 2 college seniors, 7 families, 3 maternity, 4 newborn, 2 siblings, 3 engagements for 2014 weddings, 1 silhouette, 2 head shots, 1 birthday/zoo, 1 best friends, 1 Mommy & Me, 1 military, 1 twin session, and 27 Santa sessions. WHEW!!); and to all my friends and family who have been so supportive of me since launching my business! {I couldn't even feature all the sessions in one layout, but below is a sample of what the year looked like. And I'll soon be publishing a wedding brochure that will feature past brides/grooms. I'm finalizing it now, and I'm sooooo excited about! So keep checking back} :-)

FRESH START

WOW! 2013 started off with a bang, and an attempt for me to blog. I was tremendously blessed last year, but I'm sad to report that I didn't do very well with keeping up with the new blog! Shame on ME!! But 2014 is an opportunity for a fresh new start. This site has a new look, and I'll give it a valiant effort. {Time will tell.....}

Several years ago I had the privilege to create silhouette images of six grandchildren -- for an unsuspecting grandmother! It was a wonderful Christmas surprise! Since then, a new little blessing joined their family, and little Jacob kept wondering why his silhouette wasn't on the wall with all the others. Well, we finally added Jacob to her "wall of fame"!

COMFORT ZONE

Well....once in a while, we must force ourselves out of our comfort zone. In January every year, I try to challenge myself to break out of my comfort zone and try something new. Since this is typically a slow time of the year for me as a photographer, the major decision was simply WHAT my challenge should be. So...... since I've never really pursued night photography, I decided it was time!!

This brave couple allowed me to practice, and for that I am grateful. Here's a few from tonight's downtown session. I have labeled this as my "LIGHT OF MY LIFE" series. You don't have to be getting married to enjoy one of these sessions. Perhaps you have an upcoming anniversary, or simply want to surprise your mate with a Valentine's session. COUNTRY VS. URBAN

Everybody has their own style and vision, and we had everything worked out for this engagement session.....UNTIL....the rain set in. Our country theme just wasn't going to work because of the massive amount of rainfall last week. No worries....this awesome couple decided we could "roll with the punches", so at the last minute we decided to "GO URBAN". :-)

I've known Carrie since she was in elementary school -- she shared the same babysitter with my children. Years later, she and my sons shared high school band together. Now.....years later, I get to share her wonderful wedding day when she marries Michael. What a blessing! I had fun spending time with them and getting to meet little Sadie. Can't wait to capture their special day!

TO BLOG OR NOT TO BLOG? That is the question. I've been in business several years, and am just now getting around to starting a blog. Quite honestly, getting started is the hardest step! You can see this is a work in progress, so bear with me as I get this underway....

The Lord really has blessed me and my business, and I have to begin by thanking Him for everything. I also want to thank all my 2012 customers, as well as my fans. I am overwhelmed with the "traffic" on my Zenfolio site this past year, and I can't wait to see what 2013 holds. I tried to create a thank-you with all my sessions from 2012, but just didn't have room for everything, but I want everyone to know that I appreciate your support, your business, and your interest in my photography.
